OSJCT Brookside

Brookside care home

Brookside is another nursing care home under the management of The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT). Established over four decades ago, Brookside was recently awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The homes’ leadership and service level were rated particularly high by CQC, which noted that the home sought the participation of residents during the construction of a sun lounge, the purchase of a juice dispensing system, and the selection of furniture and decoration for the home. The compassionate and collaborative approach is viewed as a great example of increasing the self-value of vulnerable adults in their care.

Brookside offers comprehensive care for adults over the age of 65, as well as for patients suffering from mental health disorders and dementia. Staff members receive mandatory training including policies and procedures relating to the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty safeguards to fully equip them during their daily interactions with patients, especially those that are unable to make decisions on their own. Brookside also structures a varied and interesting recreational calendar to ensure that its residents enjoy an active and rewarding lifestyle. Brookside’s success has even drew praise from the Mayor of Melksham, Adrienne Westbrook.
