Hospice Day Unit
Our Day unit patients usually attend once a week although more
frequent visits can be arranged according to individual needs. The
focus of the day is to support patients in their adjustment to the
effects of a life-limiting illness and to assist them in returning
to as near normal life as possible. A multi-professional clinical
team are available to guide and support patients in the planning
and delivery of their care during their time in the day unit.
There is access to a wide range of social activities, complementary
and Diversional therapies as well as Nursing and Family Support
services. These activities are designed to promote relaxation
and rehabilitation as well as providing space to talk and share
experiences. The non-clinical atmosphere is very important to
a lot of patients and is central to the care provided in the
unit. Facilities include a Jacuzzi bathroom, creative arts room
and comfortable lounge and conservatory sitting areas. Patients
also have a chance to enjoy a varied menu of Home cooked meals
either in our dining room, or in the beautiful landscaped gardens
when the weather allows. |
