Outreach
We want the best and most informed palliative care
not just for our patients but for everyone in the wider community
who needs it. That is why the hospice is committed to involvement
in many outreach courses and programmes. For instance: we have been
involved in training sessions in many practices during their Protected
Learning Time sessions, facilitated debrief sessions to explore
and reflect on good practise in patient care, contributed at colleges,
universities and conferences and been included in Palliative Care
forums and specialist education groups on a regional and national
level.
| Outreach is a two-way process and thanks to strengthened links
- between us, the NHS, the Primary Care Trusts and Social Services
Departments – we have offered free places and received
free places on a number of specialised courses. This reciprocal
arrangement means that we all benefit from the wide range of
programmes and resources while reducing the cost of health education
for everyone. |
