Volunteering

We couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers. Our amazing team of more than 600 volunteers give their time to help Cotswold Care Hospice support patients, their families and carers.

In 2009 our army of volunteers donated more than 43,427 hours. It would cost us a minimum of £217,000 a year if we had to pay for the time our volunteers give us.

By giving just four hours a week you could make a real difference to someone coming to terms with a life-limiting illness.

Vacancies - can you help us?

Complementary therapy volunteers – We are looking for complementary therapy volunteers. Please click on the Complementary therapy volunteer section to find out and to download an application form and role profile.

Kitchen Helper on a Friday – It would be wonderful to have someone who could commit to this every other Friday.

Kitchen Helper Ad-hoc days between Tues - Friday – To cover days when we have education events, or holiday cover for other kitchen volunteers.

Day Care Helpers on a Friday – this would be approximately once a fortnight and occasionally to cover sickness and leave.

Ad hoc Kitchen/MS Group/Flower Helper on occasional Tuesdays to cover holidays and sickness – This role requires someone with a flexible attitude who thrives on a variety of tasks each week and is able to work on their own iniative.

Drivers – Needed to transport patients back and forth to the Hospice, whether it be to day hospice, or outpatient appointments.

Reception Volunteers – Relief Cover Only – Ideally you will have a good working knowledge of computerised telephone systems and must have good IT skills including Word and Outlook.

Gardeners – We are always looking for more individuals to help our small but hardworking band of gardeners.

Shop Volunteers – We have opened shops in Cheltenham & Cirencester during the past year and just opened our 10th shop in Tetbury. We are looking for volunteers to help serve customers, sort clothes and bric-a-brac, steam etc.

Volunteer drivers – Our shops reply on the support of our volunteer van drivers who collect and distribute goods between our shops and to help with recycling. The van operates Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm. A clean driving licence is required.

eBay support – Are you a master on eBay? Could you help us? We need eBay gurus to help us run our eBay shop.
